Removing your original pickguard.

When removing your pickguard to add your new custom pickguard to your guitar. Don't feel intimidated by the job. Most pickguards will pull right up depending on the adhesive the guitar company uses. To make sure your pickguard pulls right up with ease, there are many different methods to removing one.

Adding a little heat to the pick guard itself will not hurt your guitar at all!

*My personal favorite is the blow dryer method.

With a towel, cover all the areas you do not want any heat touching, leaving just the pickguard area exposed (not a must), but helps focus a little heat to just the pickguard area alone.

With a little heat you'll feel the pickguard warm up a bit, (doesn't take much heat) then you will start to pull up the thin side of the pickguard. You'll notice how little heat it takes to make the adhesive soften up enough to peel up the existing pickguard. Slowly peel away until it is completely removed, adding a little heat as need. Like I said - no need to fret or worry, it's a simple job to make room for your new personalized wooden pickguard on your guitar.
